Taylor Carr, B.F.A. Fashion Design, grew up in San Mateo, California. Taylor won the Teen Vogue CFDA Award in 2012. His collection was inspired by hypnagogia: a world between reality and dreams, which blends together what is real and what is not. To achieve a collection that looks as though it could be conjured from a dream or premonition, Taylor hand-placed various sized Swarovski crystals onto brocade fabrics; one pair of trousers contains over 5,000 crystals. Other fabrics used in the collection include wool suiting, wool crepe and cotton shirting.
