DALLAS, Nov 20, 2010 / — Tuesday at Tyson’s Corner in McLean, Virginia, tennis great and Longines brand ambassador Andre Agassi made a personal appearance at Fink’s Jewelers and spoke to children from the USTA Mid/Atlantic and fans about his views on education in America.

And while he discussed the Longines Elegance Scholarship Fund, Andre Agassi also talked about his school – The Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy- and the work of his foundation- the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education.

The foundation has raised $150 million for education initiatives since it’s founding in 1994. Mr. Agassi was accompanied by a graduating senior- Micah Jones from his Nevada-based preparatory academy.

During the day, Longines set up a smash court in-store where the tennis legend fulfilled dreams by hitting a few balls with the children from the USTA Mid/Atlantic.

For a donation of $5 to Mr. Agassi’s foundation, attendees at the event were allowed to test the speed of their serve. The fastest men’s and women’s serve during the event received a Longines timepiece.

Marc Fink announced during the event that Fink’s Jewelers would donate 10% of the sales of a Longines timepiece for the month of November and December to Mr. Agassi’s Foundation.
