BCBG Max Azria Runway PF14 (5)NEW YORK, Jan 8, 2014/ — For Pre-Fall 2014, BCBGMAXAZRIA RUNWAY is inspired by a utilitarian mood juxtaposed against rich novelty textures with folkloric undertones.

Known for its creativity, accessibility, desirability and wearability, BCBGMAXAZRIA stayed true to the brand’s DNA of individuality and timelessness with its choice of color palette for Pre-Fall 2014 – smoky grey, khaki, black and navy is contrasted with blush and crisp white.

Silhouettes evoke a retro feminine feel with its elongated, slim-waisted and A-line shapes drawn from the 40’s and 50’s are mixed in fresh proportion with oversized, minimalist and structured bodies.

Embroidery is a key accent with technology and handcraftsmanship coming together in the making of each embroidered piece.

Fur also makes an appearance as patchwork fur. The layout of this patchwork scarf was inspired and designed around the camouflage jacquard used throughout the collection. Each fur patch was individually hand cut and hand assembled using a fur machine.

The unique shades of color were achieved by hand dyeing each fur pelt prior to assembly. The outcome is a simple and versatile piece with numerous styling options.
