Nov 21, 2001/ FWD/ --- Gucci Group’s Alexander McQueen label now has a chief executive
officer. Susan M. Whiteley, previously with Harvey Nichols, was named today as CEO of
Alexander McQueen, effective immediately.
Before joining McQueen, Whiteley was both the buying director of womenswear and a board
member of Harvey Nichols.
"Susan has established a reputation as a strong manager with a clear strategic vision of
this industry," Gucci Group President and CEO Domenico De Sole said in a statement. "Her
keen fashion sense and strong business acumen perfectly complement McQueen’s creative genius
and natural business flair."
Said McQueen: "Susan’s excellent merchandising and commercial skills are a great asset to
the company. Her in-depth knowledge of the business will help guide McQueen as we enter an
exciting period of growth."
