London, Aug 25, 2001/ FWD/ --- London Fashion Week has announced the catwalk debuts of six designers,
in addition to the 29 new designers who will be showcasing their collections in the London Designer's Exhibition.
"The continuing rise of emerging new talent in London is phenomenal," commented John Wilson, Chief Executive of
the British Fashion Council. "The applications and collections were of an exceptional standard and we will see
one of the busiest seasons to date, with an amazing 52 catwalk shows and 14 presentations alongside a sell-out
exhibition of 150 designers."
The six designers whose applications have been successful are:
Cutting-edge Central St Martin's MA graduate Adam Entwisle; Brazilian Carlos Miele whose collection is being
shown in London for the first time, and who is already stocked by Browns, Barney's and Joyce; celebrity favorite
Gharani Strok, the brainchild of childhood friends Nargress Gharani and Vanja Strok, who are known for their
feminine, printed fabrics; i.e. uniform from design partners Roger Lees and Lesley Sees, who specialize in
innovative fabrics; and New Generation Group winners Hamish Morrow, who divides his time between London and
Milan, and Antonio Berardi's ex-assistant Warren Noronha, who is building on the success of his two previous
off-schedule Fashion Week collections.
London Fashion Week runs from Monday September 17th through Saturday September 22nd. The London Designer's
Exhibition runs from Thursday September 20th through Sunday September 23rd.
