Sep 21, 2001/ FWD/ --- Cerruti is the first designer on the Paris ready-to-wear calendar to cancel its
show, originally scheduled for Thursday October 11 at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts.
Cerruti's owner, Fin.part, made the decision today to cancel all of its participating companies' runway
shows for the spring/summer 2002 season. This includes Cerruti as well as Istvan Francer in Paris and Maska
in Milan.
The company stated in its announcement that "in light of the present events, we do not feel that it would be
opportune to present the new collections filled with spectacular designs and inevitably involving a degree of
self-congratulation."
In lieu of runway shows, Fin.part has organized showroom presentations for both its clients and the press.
The Italian fashion holding company will also donate a large chunk of its budget, originally earmarked for
events and presentations planned for the last four months of the year, to the charity set up by the New York
Fire Department to help victims of the terrorist attack on the United States.
The Cerruti presentations will take place in Paris on October 11 to 13, from 9am to 7pm. For Istvan Francer,
presentations will be held in both Milan (September 28 to October 3, from 9am to 7pm) and Paris (October 6 to
October 8 from 9am to 7pm). Maska presentations will take place in Milan on October 2 from 9:30am to noon.
