Sep 18, 2001/ FWD/ --- Louis Feraud has cancelled its spring 2002 runway show in Paris next month. The move
comes not in response to tragic events in the United States, but rather as a result of recent ownership changes.
Last summer, Secon Groups-owned Feraud became a joint venture with Escada. According to Louis Feraud USA president
Lewis Koppelman, designer Yvan Mispelaere was unable to work on his new collection until the negotiations were
completed in late July. So rather than present a less-than-perfect line, the company will return to the catwalk
with its "luxe" collection in March.
As FWD reported yesterday, Lanvin has also opted not to participate in the upcoming ready-to-wear shows in Paris.
This French house has also had its share of turmoil lately. It was sold from L'Oreal to Harmonie SA last July,
and just announced that it is severing ties with its women's wear designer Cristina Ortiz.
