There is also a feature on Debra Messing, star of Will & Grace.
Once just a mousy-haired ingenue from Brooklyn, Debra Messing has become television's
favorite redhead, quickly being dubbed "Juicy" (the Jewish Lucy).
In the October issue of Allure, the Will & Grace star explains that her ascent has
required a lot more than hair dye and good luck.
For her first show, the 1995 sitcom "Ned & Stacey," she recalls, "They brought in these
gelatin falsies ... I was convinced I would not be funny with huge boobs."
Messing's clearest sign of success came when Barbra Streisand knew who she was.
"She was introducing all her New York friends in the audience," Messing says of
Streisand's farewell concert.
"And she asked 'Who else is here?' Someone yelled 'Will & Grace.'
And she said 'Debra? Debra Messing?' and I jumped out of my seat!"
