DALLAS, Jun 12, 2003/ FW/ --- Chanel continues to dominate the women's fragrance market. Last Monday, during the 31st annual FiFi Awards held at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, Chance and Chanel No 5 were feted as the best in their category.

The youngest Chanel fragrance, CHANCE won the coveted "Best Women's Fragrance Introduction of the Year -- Luxe."

Launched in 2002, Chance's fresh floral scent had made itself a favorite of hot young celebrities like Britney Spears, Amanda Peet, Drew Barrymore and Eve.

With the "youngest Chanel consumer who dares to imagine a world which is exciting and promising," as its target market, CHANCE is proving to be a winner for Chanel in more ways than one.

Retailers and Fragrance Foundation Members voted for the "Fragrance Star of The Year" based on launch, packaging, advertising and marketing strategy.

CHANEL CHANCE was one of eleven fragrance finalists in the luxury category, narrowed down from hundreds of entries. The luxury category is identified as fragrances sold in more than 500 retail doors across the country.

If CHANCE is Chanel's youngest fragrance, Chanel No 5 is the oldest. Created by Coco Chanel herself more than 80 years ago, No 5 is credited as the first designer fragrance.

Throught he years, so many faces have represented Chanel No 5, the most famous of them all was Marilyn Monroe who proclaimed that "she does not sleep with anything on except Chanel No 5."

The latest face for No 5 is Estella Warren, and the print ad featuring Ms. Warren won the Chanel No 5 the "Established Fragrance Advertising Award."
