Lakme India Fashion Week 2003 Kicks off July 18, 2003
58 Leading Designers To Participate At The Event
Jun 30, 2003/ FW/ --- It's showtime in Mumbai, India for the fourth annual
Lakme India Fashion Week 2003 (LIFW) slated on July 18-23, 2003 at the
National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA).
As announced by the The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), there will be 58
leading designers in the official roster for this year's event.
Aside from the 35 runway shows and an exhibition, the seven-day event also includes
seminars, workshops and symposium.
A “by invitation only” event, Lakme India Fashion Week 2003 is expected to have
over 15,000 visitors from international and domestic buying houses and
retailers, media, as well as sponsor and designer guests.
Established in 2000 by FDCI with Lakme as the title sponsor, India Fashion Week
has become the most important event in the annual calendar for everyone associated with
the fashion design industry in India.
With the event's primary objective of creating business relationships and
facilitating a dialogue between designers and trade buyers, LIFW is fast
becoming the place to be for emerging Indian designers.
Having IMG handle all the commercial aspects and management of the event helps to.
IMG brings to LIFW the expertise and network it uses to organize New York Fashion Week
and Los Angeles Fashion Week.
