Onward Kashiyama Signs Sandy Dalal for ICB
By: Heather O'Brian

NEW YORK, Feb 15, 2002/ --- Sandy Dalal has a new job. Onward Kashiyama confirmed today that the New York designer will begin working on the men's wear line of its International Concept Brand (ICB) label, beginning with the autumn/winter 2002-3 season.

Dalal showed the latest collection from his own label in New York last Wednesday afternoon.

Italian fashion house Byblos also confirmed today that Dalal's Byblos collection, presented during the men's wear shows in Milan last month, was his last with the group.

Martine Sitbon remains creative director of Byblos women's wear.

Onward Kashiyama signed Dutch duo Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren last year to design its ICB women's wear line.

The Japanese-based retailer distributes Sandy Dalal's own line in the U.S.

Byblos, part of the Genny Group acquired by Italian fashion house Prada last summer, has had bad luck hanging on to designers.

Dalal was with Byblos less than a year. He and Sitbon took the place of John Bartlett, who was on contract from the spring 1999 to the fall/winter 2001 season.

Before Bartlett, Australian designer Richard Tyler lasted at Byblos just two seasons.
