Style Star and Fashiontrance Debut at Style Network
TV Network Launches Two New Series During the New York Spring 2003 Fashion Season
LOS ANGELES, Aug 30, 2002/ FW/ --- Style Network is on a roll. After being named the Official Broadcast
Television Network for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week three times in a row, Style announced
the debut of two new fashion series: "Style Star" and "Fashiontrance."
"Style Star" takes an intimate look at one celebrity and her fashion sensibility as it has
evolved through the years.
With the help of stylists, experts, people watchers, and Style's library footage, the Style Star
will reveal the style secrets of today’s top celebrities.
The debut episode (September 22 at 10 PM ET/PT) spotlights the personal style of motion
picture actress and recording star Jennifer Lopez.
Style Star’s regular timeslot is Sunday at 9 PM ET/PT on Style.
Fashiontrance is Style's new hour-long series offering a front row seat at the runway,
featuring back-to-back fashion shows set to dance trance beats.
With its edgy pop-ups about models, designers and creative collections, the series satisfies
even the most demanding fashion fan.
The debut episode (September 20, 10 PM ET/PT) will feature Michael Kors, Oscar De La Renta,
Donna Karan, and Catherine Malandrino.
"Style is really coming into its own in 2002. This year we 're unveiling a very aggressive
slate of new lifestyle programs hosted by some of today’s most engaging personalities,
such as Elisabeth Filarski, Lynda Lopez, Lise Simms, and Katie Brown," said Stephen Croncota,
Senior Vice President, Programming of Style.
"This season, we’re introducing Style Star, our new series chronicling the fashion history
of those movie, tv and music stars who can legitimately be called 'style icons.' Our new
series Fashiontrance puts runway fashion to a dance beat, with insider information and
pithy quips popping on-screen during great fashion shows set to hot music," Concrota added.
