French Federation Announces Awards
By: Timothy Hagy
May 19, 2003, 2003/ FW/ ---The French Federation of Fashion has planned the annual awards ceremony "Trophées St. Roch" for June 5, 2003.
In partnership with DMC, the world¹s leading thread producer, third-year students at the École de la chambre syndicale de la couture parisienne will present their end-of-year show.
Based on the theme "Diagonal", each participant will be required to show three models from their own personal collection. As embroidery is very evident in today¹s fashion, an accessory will be embroidered entirely with DMC pearlized cotton thread, using the new Linea technique.
At the end of the show, the Jury, which will be made up of designers, journalists and fashion industry professionals, will award in addition to the three traditional prizes: the Grand Prize, the Prize for Technical Expertise and the Prize for Textile Research, a Linea DMC Prize.
Each prize-winner will be offered a 6-month long further training course in a major fashion house.
The Federation is the governing board that organizes and moderates all Paris fashion shows. Additionally, the Federation regularly demonstrates its commitment to nurturing students who will be the designers of tomorrow.
