DALLAS, Apr 24, 2006/ FW/ --- Sportswear giant Nike opened a 15,000 square foot retail outlet in Kansas City’s The Legends of West End Outlet Mall, a first for the company in the state.
With at least 40 full and part-time staff, the store will carry a vast array of Nike’s product offerings to a great cross section of consumers from surrounding areas.
To celebrate the grand opening, Nike awarded a $5,000 cash and product grant to the Wyandotte County Boys & Girls Club.
The donation is a part of NikeGO, Nike's signature U.S. community affairs initiative aimed at getting kids more physically active. David Smith, President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City attended the grand opening ceremony and accepted the donation on behalf of the club.
"We are very excited to have Nike joining us in Wyandotte County. The Boys & Girls Clubs have a strong relationship with Nike and share our vision of healthy, active children. We are honored to benefit from this grand opening and we look forward to many opportunities to partner together to benefit the youth and families in Wyandotte County," said David Smith in a statement.
