LOS ANGELES, Jul 10, 2006/ FW/ --- Since its launch in 1997, music has been a key element in Clinique Happy’s advertising campaign. For the first time ever, an original song commissioned by Clinique will accompany the popular fragrance’s holiday campaign.
The song, ‘Just Be Happy,’ composed by gold and platinum-selling singer-songwriter Ne-Yo will be performed in two different versions - one by gold and platinum pop star Rihanna and one by gold-certified country sensation Julie Roberts.
Scheduled for release during the 2006 Christmas shopping season, ‘Just Be Happy’ is the centerpiece of an unprecedented advertising and promotional campaign created to attract young consumers to CLINIQUE HAPPY.
In addition to radio commercials featuring "Just Be Happy" that are scheduled for the holiday season, www.getyourhappy.com, a microsite created exclusively for CLINIQUE HAPPY, will launch September 1, 2006.
The website specially created for the campaign features complimentary MP3 and ring-tone downloads of the song, as well as video clips from the recording session and special interactive experiences featuring dancing bubbles.
A full range of in-store promotional activities is also planned, including a unique gift-with-purchase opportunity that will invite customers who purchase CLINIQUE HAPPY to download five singles of their choice from Sony Connect.
Popular songs such "C'mon Get Happy" performed by Judy Garland, The Turtles' "Happy Together" and "Make Someone Happy" sung by Jimmy Durante were songs that have accompanied Clinique Happy’s ad campaigns.
