MILAN, Dec 17, 2003/ FW/ – Alberta Ferretti directs a dance of 1950’s flowing feminine soft moving silhouettes. Spring summer 2004, presented in Milan last October is about being a lady, little girl and sensual all at the same time.
The collection is void of trousers and pants, but they are not missed in a return to the graceful. Ferretti brightly colours chiffon and soft suede into greens, purples, coffee and pinks mixing them audaciously.
Current trends like floral, printed fabrics, ruffles and knee length skirts that have passed through Milan as recurring strong trends remain and are modernly interpreted into wearable comfort without loosing any of their class.
Light overcoats fall over feather light dresses and separates for those cooler summer nights. Pretty bows and ribbon are tied at the waist or neck adding to the softness of the collection.
Volume and movement are manifested best in the evenings with goddess like tunics in chiffon dangling and tied under the bosom empire line style. Asymmetrical cutting and layering reveal thighs as they walk the catwalk with elegance and grace.
Poetic sensibility in her simple beauty, the Ferretti woman next summer remains faithful to lightness and a classic charm that is passionate and desirable.
