Alberta Ferretti Alberta Ferretti DALLAS, Apr 29, 2007/ FW/ --- With fashion and trends currently in flux, Alberta Ferretti remains constant in dressing ‘the lady’ inside every woman. ‘The Devil might Wear Prada’ but ‘The Lady Wears Alberta Ferretti.’

First time a lady, the outerwear. Proposing multiple variants of the coat, Alberta Ferretti created them in patent leather, cutting the skirts into panels, resulting to a full skirt silhouette. Then, there was the half-tone black and white sepia print on a coat with baby collar. Traditionally treated leather coat with steel grommets, which also came in black, this time adorned with vinyl grommets.

Suit jackets came with mutton sleeves while the short-cropped ones were given wide collars, again adorned with multi-sized plastic grommets in both the collar and pocket flaps.

Second time a lady: daywear. Slim trousers that do not constrict movement were paired with suit jackets or tube tops that reached mid thigh. Degradé dresses that graduates from different shades of gray were given V-neck and an empire waist that was slightly sheered, resulting to a very romantic look. A gray sleeveless shirt dress in pin tucks was cinched at the waist by a black patent belt, then finished off with a bow on the collar.

Going high-tech, but keeping that romantic atmosphere, soft fabric were printed again in half tones and if one would hazard a guess, all of those were laser printed like the metallic trench coat that featured similar prints.

Third time a lady: eveningwear. Definitely red carpet worthy, so don’t be surprised if you see it in Cannes next month. This might be for the fall 2007 season, but celebrities have their way getting it from fashion houses. Ostrich feathers adorned skirts of cocktail dresses, while ruching was used in a strapless degrade bustier dress.

Still, it was the gowns that are really to die for. Sleeveless and boat neck, they curved the figure without being overtly sexy, just exuding allure. Adorned with graphical metallic shapes or with spider web design, they just hit the perfect note!

Too bad that Spiderman 3 is already opening in theaters soon. Kirsten Dunst would surely look good in the ‘spider’ gown.
