Philosophy's Coquettes Catch a Chill

MILAN, Mar 6, 2003/ FWD/ --- Snow bunnies ruled the runway tonight at Alberta Ferretti's
Philosophy collection for fall 2003.
These were very young, coquettish girls who don't give a hoot about their performance on
the slopes, but are sure to make a splash back at the lodge.
In super-short wool skirts, thick tights, suede Ugg boots and fuzzy pom-pom ski hats,
the girls were ready to prance right into the chalet for a little après-ski flirting.
The sweet young things, dressed in nary more than a brief skirt, a tatter of a chiffon
tank and the briefest of wool shrugs, will have philanders circling like wolves.
Unfortunately, their estimation of appropriate attire for a winter freeze (mini chiffon
skirts and sheer tops will not make for a pleasant winter experience -- even with a wool hat)
doesn't bode too well for their common sense.
If things don't work out at the lodge, there's always the ice rink for back-up.
The flirty satin skirts, paired with slick racer-style jackets or padded arm sweaters and
wooly hats, were just begging for a triple axel.
Although cute, the collection had its silly moments.
Those cropped turtleneck shrugs never looked all that convincing, but with military
pockets they looked positively out of place.
The final run, a series of black sheer dresses, skirts and tops, cascading with
silver ring charms, had a few moments of sweet jingle, but the rest of it felt like
overdone Christmas trees.
