DALLAS, Feb 21, 2004/ FW/ --- “This collection is about a movement through time and place, the passage of time, a woman in the course of her day,” the designer told 7th on Sixth.
So, last week in New York’s Bryant Park, Behnaz Sarafpour brought us back to the 1950s, last century’s age of innocence and sent clothes made of fabrics with an antique heirloom quality in faded colors that have aged look.
Straight out of our mother’s closets yet very contemporary in its sweetness. Pleated skirts, coats that reminded you of Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy, sleeveless A-line dresses decorated with old lace.
There were no new grounds broken in terms of fashion, but the clothes are definitely wearable and sellable.
Standouts are the fur coats and vest, which will definitely keep a woman warm during those cold winter nights.
No expenses were spared either when it came to the models. Highly paid catwalkers such as Tiu, Erin Wasson, Liya Ebede and Maria Carla graced the runway in this short and sweet runway show.
