Biagiotti: Let the Games Begin

MILAN, Jul 1, 2004/ FW/ -- Forget about Athens; watch out for Milan… Biagiotti is bringing the Olympic Games to Milan with this line. The collection included great pieces that were commemorative emotionally and aesthetically for the 100th anniversary of the Games.

As homage the to the ‘color’ trend that is sweeping Milan this season, the most extraordinary shades and tones for a breezy lighthearted summer were shown in sorbet pink, sea green, orange, gold, white, grey and khaki. These soft tones were enhanced with chocolate soft leather loafers as key footwear.

Talking of footwear, the runners that featured the Olympic circles will be a sure hit this summer among Olympic fans. It’s cute, and downright one-of-kind in a manner of speaking.

The themes of the clothing spanned from jet setter and young Hollywood to urban gym. With much of the collection printed with the grand Olympic Rings, there was a sense of patriotism throughout the room.

Well-tailored travel suits with sere sucker marker stripes accessorized with scarves and great handbags came out one after the other. Flare leg trousers and light weight turtle- necks off-set by white rimmed eyewear made the show come to life.

The audience could not do anything else but give a standing ovation when the show ended with a model only wearing shorts and a lit Olympic Torch.

And when Laura Biagotti took her bow with a V sign for Victory and wearing long shawl with the Olympic emblem, that act just brought down the house!
