MILAN, Feb 21, 2005/ FW/ ---- Snowflakes and snow lakes in a fairytale winter wonderland as designer Anna Molinari for her diffusion line Blugirl paid homage to Northern Europe, Copenhagen and Hans Christian Andersen’s bicentennial (1805-2005).
An aptly white and fluffy setting seemed like divine intervention as real snow continues to fall outside on the Milan pavements.
In a mixture of all things cute, from ruffle mini skirts, long white stocking legs with stilettos decorated with bows to mini suede shorts and cozy little red riding hood capes, Molinari’s fantasy world is an emotional trip to the enchanted.
Snow queens wear fur hats as soft as clouds while floral embroidery dances on velvet and chiffon allowing Swarovski sparkles to settle on heart shaped logos and knit.
Blugirl for autumn winter 2005/06 is made up of various fairytale themes composed of elegance and not so innocent sensuality.
Frilly lace settles near light down jackets, fur trim and equestrian motifs like the long sleeve silky blouses, jodhpurs in an autumn palette and horse belt buckles for a day at Ascot, mixing tradition with the contemporary.
Northern excellence comes via the softest cashmere twin sets and entertaining tartans. Bold and established, velvet midnight black bodices accentuate the female silhouette before meeting frou-frou skirts, at times reminiscent of modern day Heidi’s celebrating the Austrian Alps.
Molinari’s wardrobe of magic made real is a trip to the delightfully furnished lands of our mind, where winter whiteness is celebrated and fascination is a daily gift.
