Anna Molinari MILAN, Mar 10, 2005/ FW/ --- In an ultra femme collection, can there ever be too many ruffles? Anna Molinari is setting the scene for a fairytale winter full of ruffles and lace. One of the girliest collections of the season also captured some great silhouettes of the Romantic Age.

A golden brown plaid collection filled with belted coats and shorts began the show. These items were very simple and ready to wear in construction and essence.

The necklines ranged from revealing much cleavage to a chaste 1950’s round collar with long black knit sweater. Dresses and skirts were also diverse from flared and puffed to pencil A-lines. Many cropped coats on suits revealed see through light chiffons verses linens underneath.

Transitioning to leopard prints with actual tiger motifs on skirts and dresses lighten the collection to become more flashy and fun. These silhouettes were still romantic, but much more gaudy.

Even progressing more to a green and gold metallic collection was the climax with culottes suits and bourgeois ruffles on over powering tops. Many of the tops gained their construction from Molinari’s dresses that were just as elaborate and decorative.

A great mixture of cream and black toned the collection down a few degrees featuring some wonderful black coats and simple 50’s cocktail dresses.

A few zebra print pieces were thrown in for more dramatics along with some very sheer beaded cocktail dresses. The cream nude chiffon dresses revealed breast and had short hems with some baby doll flares revealing femme satin knickers.

Accessories were not in excess due to the elaborate craftsmanship of the garments. Small gold clutches with chain handles were thrown throughout. The thigh high patent leather glossy boots stole the show along with a few gold round toe pumps.

This collection was full of undertones stating that the Molinari woman will be romantic yet hardcore, but somehow keeping her Victorian chaste roots.
