MILAN, Oct 23, 2004/ FW/ --- Rossella Tarabini’s spring/summer collection was all about her dream dresses and inspirations of the emphamis Tsarina Alexandria and the late royal family.
Luxurious lingerie with lace will be meeting street wear for warm weather. Vintage inspired
day dresses in screeching blue were held up by matching platform wedges.
Short fur jackets in canary were shortened at the waist and elbow. Azure long beads
accompanied most of the looks in the collection.
This girly collection also had a boyish edge. Short knicker suits were direct replicas of Tsareivitch Alexi’s famous sailor outfits. As well as mannish low slung messenger bags along with square box cut jackets.
The color palate of the collection even had a very dark and dismal feel to it with gray blush hues. There was nothing too bright or overwhelming much like the harsh weather of the Balkan countries. The most notable colors through the collection were azure blue and a dull canary yellow.
The Russian royal family had five daughters. Tarabini used dainty ruffles on long skirts in the Spirit of Anastasia and the others. With a modern sweep, metallic short outfits were shown in variations of sea blue and silver. The collection concluded with baggy gowns in chiffon and charmeuse with lace. Though very baggy and often drop waisted, the gowns had sensuality that was flattering to the model’s form.
Too bad for the royal family’s end, but there spirit is seen in full life through this collection….
