Bruuns Bazaar: Contrast
By: Tanya Jensen
Paris, Oct 5, 2001/ FWD/ --- Contrast was the central theme at Bruuns Bazaar’s spring 2002
show at Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. The fabrics, colors, prints and shapes were diverse and
always presented in interesting combinations.
The simplicity of crisp cotton stripe suits, skirts and blouses that were paired with basic
sheer tops contrasted with the girly kitten heels, bands and neckerchiefs.
Slouchy, sexy loose-waisted, wide-legged pants were glamorized with transparent silk vests,
and blouses and feminine skirts with frills and flounces came in harsh colors such as black,
gray and Bordeaux.
A black leather skirt was teamed with an unoriginal white T but it was followed by a girlish
bird print dress and blouse in slinky satin. Shiny metallic pants and hot pants were diluted
with silk gathered tops.
This Danish designer, whose huge following includes Madonna, designs confident clothes for
confident girls.
