MILAN Sep 29, 2004 / FW/ –Burberry Prorsum’s ‘little red riding hoods’ hint at the 1980’s as
the best of British graced Milan’s catwalks last night, with guests including family
favorite Kate Moss sitting front row along with all the who’s who of fashion this side of anywhere.
Spring Summer 2005 for Christopher Bailey is all about crisp colors that the delicate English summer rain brings out, metallics that glisten in the sunshine, and precisely sculptured estate gardens.
Bailey has the ability to mix and match colors and patterns, and the audacity to pull it off season after season, making this collection no exception, leaving precise blue china floral on white with matching wedge heeled sandals walk down the white catwalk in Corso Venezia.
Burberry English favorites; like college scarves, this season with bells and cord fringing; the plaid classic Burberry print is used on handbags and hinted at on skirts; while the traditional trench is re-worked into both short bolero and puff sleeve voluminous good girl doll version are all staple essentials in this blissful wardrobe.
Burberry Prosum accessories are always statements in style, so there will be no mistake next season when we start to see bright square colored glasses, bold maxi bags, decorative buckles and pretty sling back shoes as to where they come from.
Bailey manages with natural nonchalance to ease the age-old English fashion giant forward season after season. Hippy chic is still playful, as dresses are knotted and draped almost vintage in style, while the fun loving metallic fabric dresses in super bright greens and pinks are the real winners of the collection, sporting little frill shoulder straps and abundant skirts.
