DALLAS, Dec 11, 2006/ FW/ --- --- For those getting the winter blues, the arrival of spring is a welcome thought. And, if you’re thinking of spring break, William Das, Creative Director of Diesel has the goods just for you.
Opting for a golden summer, the Diesel Spring / Summer 2007 collection unveiled last September in New York is about sunny skies and white beaches, where everything is warm and the sand beneath your feet is soft and cool.
In a mostly white and metallic gold collection, Das proposed high-waisted shorts and empire corset-inspired dresses. Belts are wide and the waist is emphasized. There is a 1950s feel to it, a seeming continuation of its Fall 2006 collection that was based on the same era.
Snug fitting jackets are proposed for ‘formal’ wear, i.e., if there is something formal at the beach during spring break or summertime. Hot pants are back and so are pencil thin knickers.
For men, white is in and so is taupe. The silhouette is thin, but very comfortable, the slim cuts do not constrict.
The whole collection borders on sexy, without being overt. It’s summer after all and Diesel expects you to show some skin to get those golden tans.
