PARIS, Jan 30, 2006/ FW/ --- Saturday, at the Maison de L’Architecture here in Paris, Dirk Schonberger previewed a hauntingly handsome collection about fast men and fast bikes, with WWII military overtures and the working class heroes.
Opening with a black double-breasted trench coat paired with a dockworker hat, it was a Harley man’s dream comes true – slim silhouette, crisp tailoring and a rakish attitude.
What followed was a series of suits and jackets that seemed incongruent at first – a Wall Street broker with his necktie and suit wearing a patent leather oversized outer jacket.
On paper, it would the look would not work, but in reality, the formality and recklessness gave a devil-may-care attitude that is alluring, almost sexy without being overt.
A little danger in a man goes a long way in catching a woman’s eyes. Dirk Schonberger succeeded in that respect.
Plus, with a masterfully tailored wearable collection complete with knits, jackets and leather pants, a man can go from formal to casual if he stays with Dirk Schonberger.
A winning collection overall that would certainly be in a young man’s wish list come fall.
