PARIS, Jul 4, 2006/ FW/ – ‘on a visit to berlin, i noticed graffiti: ‘vive la bourgeoisie!’ known as a city for its underground cultural movements, the irony was evident. and then again it wasn’t...’ Schonberger’s press notes state.
Hence a summer of change and irony, giving a closer look at generation X’s past and their transformation of what they have become today.
Bright summer flashes haunt a color palette of traditional Schonberger dark grays, blacks and navy for a romantic trip back to when new romantics from the eighties were the creative backbone of a society that would soon embrace technology and the compact disc, throw away their cassette beat boxes and not be able to find anymore video cassettes at blockbuster.
Waistcoats suit deconstruction and the merging of sartorial with the casual are all part of the Dirk Schonberger spring summer 2006 menswear wardrobe.
Volumes are playful for trousers as they fall comfortably with triple pleats at the top or fit skinny and scrunched up at the ankles, worn with paneled shirts and skinny ties before taking from Louis XVI and his romantic style buttoning jacket cuffs in a sartorial cuff link style.
Silver shimmers on select pieces and lace up shoes, knitwear is delicate and light and lapels seem attached after the jackets construction.
Poetic and memory tinted, Schonberger’s wardrobe is for the man who believes he will revolutionize the world, yet aware he has grown up and has responsibility, perhaps the right place to start the change is with his wardrobe.
