PARIS, Jul 6, 2005/ FW/ --- Josè Levy’s premiere season for Ungaro Homme is the captivating interpretation of color and sophistication.
Putting men in a strikingly bold palette, adorning them with crystal details and constructing a thin neat silhouette, Levy modernizes the menswear wardrobe that goes beyond classic cuts and formal stiffness, but rather incorporates relaxation and well being for an attire fit for everyday.
Moving backwards to go forward, the show opened with evening stylishly well-dressed men in black tuxedo’s with embroided crystal ‘raindrops’, smoking tails, shirt waistcoats and organza transparency with appliqué roses.
Ivory silk soon turns to brights and pastels, a lilac jacket, duck blue scarf, aqua tie and bright yellow bathing suit. Prints are polka dots, floral and even fruit flavored for nonchalant detail.
Casual sportswear meets the sartorial head on as hoods are part of cotton sweatshirts, Bermuda’s and pirate shorts are worn with slim blazers and tank tops make a welcome comeback.
The Ungaro man is a mighty mix between James Bond English suave and Gidget’s sidekick boyfriends on a Californian beach while remaining gorgeously Parisian, traveling between the everyday and evenings in a vivid recollection of past, present and future events.
