PARIS, Oct 5, 2005/ FW/ --- Signing his second collection for Emanuel Ungaro, Vincent Darré proposed something for every woman – the working girl, the woman of leisure, the young and the young at heart.
For the working girl – lightly fitted trousers with pleats in the front paired with long bell shaped sleeves blouses slightly pinched at the bodice with darts embellished with three neckties in three different lengths.
For the woman of leisure – pencil cut skirts with ruffles on the hemline, the waist emphasized again with ruffles and a halter-top that featured ruffles on the placket.
For the young – loose fitting shorts and snug fitting jackets with the blouse accented with ruffles, as you would have guessed.
For the young at heart – Capri-length pants with high waists and pleated in front matched with a bell-shaped sleeve blouse, the ruffles almost indistinct because it came as layers on the ¾ sleeves.
It’s not revolutionary, nor did Vincent Darré break new grounds in fashion. But they will sell, judging from the reaction of the retail buyers – they were busy taking notes, a sure sign that Vincent Darré just put Emanuel Ungaro on the list for their showroom visits.
During this time wherein the fashion industry is being threatened by the cheap labor of China and India, making sure that your collection reaches the store shelves is very important.
And that was what Vincent Darré is very successful in doing this season.
