MILAN, Sep 28, 2005/ FW/ – In Lacroix’s last season for Emilio Pucci, his Spring Summer 2006 collection was a definite goodbye. Perhaps tired of the same old usual, his cutting ties with the powerful LVMH group can’t but be a good thing for this creative master.

Fluctuating between a comfortable and slim silhouette, Lacroix cuts daring 70’s swimsuits, makes the jumpsuit almost comfortably desirable and takes a final look at the Emilio Pucci archives.

Volume flows in the softest fabrics as they dance in the wind making the Pucci woman sensual and genuinely feminine keeping the collection neat and chic.

Colors melt together mingling Pucci print excellence with which it is okay to wear horizontal stripes and flashes of pure white and metallic gold for something different.

Pucci is always elegant and though while Lacroix’s collection this season was not as strong as his last he does do some charming dresses and coats that sit just above the knee, plays with the empire line and continues to embellish floppy trousers and dress fronts.

The slave’s sandals are wonderful with buckles replacing laces and will no doubt become part of cult summer wear for 2006 obviously to accompany the soft and stylish wardrobe of Emilio Pucci.

And if you are wondering who will replace the French couturier at the creative helm of the Italian fashion house, it has been reported that British-born designer Matthew Williamson will ink a contract with LVMH next week.

According to reports, Williamson, who shows his collections in New York is a personal choice by Bernard Arnault.
