LOS ANGELES, Oct 29, 2004/ FW/ – Pop dance culture followers will be pleased to know that
Rojas is keeping them in mind, turning his runway into a house party as he presented his
latest spring summer 2005 collection yesterday in Los Angeles.
A collection for both men and women, he concentrates on re-working celebrated clothing concepts by taking the classic polo shirt and turning it into strapless dress, wide collar off the shoulder top and playing with the famous crocodile Lacoste logo.
Even though this boy may be the next best thing in casual wear for the young and the hip, the show became somewhat repetitious as the designer sent out looks often lacking in stamina and staying power.
Ultra mini skirts and ultra mini jumper dresses barely covering intimate privates seemed at times like t-shirts, though there was space for tiered girly ruffles and mini pleats in chiffon.
DJ boys wear low riding cotton pants and multi pocketed denim jeans matched with silver leather hooded sweat shirts, number appliqué on the rear of tops and press stud shirts.
The seventies are remembered via mini shorts metallic knit jumpsuits and wide over the top arm holes on sleeveless numbers. Accessories are few and far between, hence the concentration on square set mirror insert belts for all guys and girls add to the strobing effects of the clubs Rojas wearers choose to frequent.
Gorgeous is his color palette, choosing an array of purple and silver in a move away from the omni-present black nights and instead offering a disco rainbow celebration of style and casual sex appeal for his young twenty something audience.
