MILAN, Jun 28, 2005/ FW/ --- Gianfranco Ferre not only dresses, but co-ordinates, renews and synthesizes a determined male wardrobe for spring summer 2006.
He adds and then simply takes away in a game of addition and subtraction to create volume, slim silhouettes and ultimate casual comfort before evening exclusive style and taste.
Daytimes are white, crisp and clean for a luxury of attentive quality and the finest natural fabrics, wool, cotton, linen and silk.
Ankles peep below trouser hems that taper while dress shorts are worn with sartorial jackets and gold buttons. Safari style shoulders, zips and pockets play with the mixing and matching of the summer parkas with army greens for city camouflage.
Knits are of the lightest kind, textures varied and played against one another for form, fit and character.
Decoration is found via fine stitching and evenings that play with layers of organza as Ferre reinvents his signature ‘masquerade’ jackets. Devilishly divine and light, flickers of moonlight are captured when his man walks under the summer night to where magic is plenty.
The F logo on big belt buckles, soft loafers, cool sunglasses and the occasional maxi bag are all the accessories the Ferre man requires this steamy season.
