NEW YORK, Sep 13, 2003/ FW/ --- The tents at Bryant Park started rocking at 10:00AM yesterday with Kenneth Cole kicking off New York Fashion Week. By 4:00PM, the whole place became one big party with the start of the GFF Ferré show, with Beyoncé Knowles as the guest of honor.

The MTV Music Awards winner walked in at GFF Ferré with Chris Judd (J.Lo's ex) in hand, and the couple was instantly mobbed by photographers. Wearing a sexy red and white lace outfit with a matching fuschia jacket, she looked every bit bootylicious during her MTV Awards performance.

Too bad that she did not stay very long at the party. After posing for photographers and watching the first segment of the GFF Ferré show, the R&B diva quickly exited via the backstage.

In an innovative show/party, GFF Ferré showed his Spring 2004 collection for his diffusion line geared towards the youth market.

Runway shows usually last 15-20 minutes. This one lasted for two hours!

Models came in groups - red, white, black (grouped by colors), sporty and urban wear (grouped by look).

Walking in as a group, the models catwalked and then posed for the audience, changing positions every few minutes. The whole presentation looked like a silent tableau, with the models as the actors and the clothes in starring roles.

The looks were young and energetic. The 'red' grouping had a touch of biker chic and goth, specially with the leather shorts worn on top of the pants.

The 'white' group was sporty, outfits that can be worn both at the beaches in Venice, CA and at the Hamptons.

The urban wear was not street, but rather sophisticated, something which can be worn partying at almost any metropolis in the world.

One thing you can say about Gianfranco Ferre, he might be several decades older than Gen Y, but he still has his pulse in this very fickle market segment.
