Guy Laroche Born in Bordeaux, France in 1923, Guy Laroche started as a milliner.

It was not until 1957 when he established his couture line in Paris after several detours.

His first detour was after World War II when he spent 2 years in Manhattan as milliner. He returned to Paris and worked at Jean Desses for 8 years before striking out on his own.

In 1960 Guy Laroche launched his ready-to-wear line and established himself as a skillful tailor and a master cutter in the fashion world.

Guy Laroche died in 1989.

In 1995, Michel Klein designed the line, followed by Alber Elbaz who left in 1998. Three other designers followed him.

Laetitia Hecht held the position Creative Director for a couple of years and she was followed by Hervé L. Leroux.
