MILAN, Oct 3, 2002/ --- Gauging by his high-decibel, intense fashion show presented
today in Milan, it would seem that John Richmond has either just busted up with a tough
cookie, or has at least been keeping close company with a band of fiery, no-fear punkers
looking for a fight.
In either case, he created the clothes to both arm and please them.
Tough rocker chicks, bearing leather elbow and knee guards, were ready to kick some serious
butt in a rough mosh pit, using their lethal platform spiked heels and studded chokers
as weapons of mass domination.
Those bearing sequin crusted, oversized headphones straight from the 8-track era, strutted
the runway with angry aggression, clearly imparting their message of "Don´t even think
about talking to me," without uttering a word.
When Richmond moved his perturbed vixen out of the club, she was still ready for combat,
this time draped in head to toe camouflage print.
But these sexy fatigues, draped in sheer chiffon skirts and rhinestone trimmed slim suits,
were meant for commanding the bedroom, not the battlefield.
The show certainly had a high voltage presentation - the swirls of disco ball lighting
and deafening remixes of "Freak Out" and "Rappers Delight," had the audience rocking.
But once through the sound and fury, it was difficult to sort out the wearable or highly
covetable items.
But Richmond has a reputation for wild, in your face fashion, and his small, yet loyal
following, will certainly find plenty to don when the blood starts boiling in their veins.
