MILAN, Sep 28, 2006/ FW/ --- For John Richmond’s 10th anniversary fashion show, he showed a sexy new age dark collection.

The show started off with the sound of a heart beat resonating through out the walls as the lights flashed on and off to the rhythm of it’s beat. Then as the lights turned on the music slowly went from a creepy organ to a heavy metal guitar. The feel of the music was haunting and beautiful at the same time, much like the clothes that came out after.

Lot’s of lace and sparkles detailed blacks, whites and creams. Vests were layered over large bell lace sleeves and pants were slightly bellbottoms. The fabrics were rich and embellished to be even richer. Bustier were beaded and embroidered and jewel’s were large and easy to see.

The models wore their hair in ponytails that wrapped over the top of the head and forward covering half of their faces. The style was so modern it was almost not human or from another realm.

The collection was mysterious, black words of love and intimacy could barley be seen on the pocket flaps of a black vest.

Laces were real and sometimes only prints, while black and gold shimmered in different colours. In the collection fluorescent yellows, counterbalance soft florals. Hard and soft fabrics created dichotic pieces like yellow chiffon dress that had a cream bustier back sewn into it.

Gold purses were matched with silver heels and thick chain gold necklaces. Biker boot and cowboy boots cleverly clashed with feminine outfits. The styles were undefined and defined by their contrasting influences.

Silhouettes were tight and loose but always sexy and in some way body defining. Tight leather jackets and pencil skirts to looser see through laces and open knits.

What Richmond did this season is really define his customer. Sexy fabrics and rich details mixed with strong powerful silhouettes. The Richmond girl has ethereal beauty that has more then what the surface shows.
