MILAN, Feb 25, 2005/ FW/ – Drama and delight at the Laura Biagiotti fall winter 2005/06 collection presentation yesterday afternoon as a protester against slavery in the fashion industry managed to capture media attention away from Los Angeles guest Ronn Moss.
In a nice touch Moss, who plays savvy fashion manager Ridge Forrester in the acclaimed daytime soap The Bold and the Beautiful watched the real runway show with real models, real media and real fashion design quality.
Biagiotti gave a splendid collection based on a ‘new relaxed beauty’ reflected in mirrors that show not themselves, but ‘an impression of the clothes’.
Masculine cuts and perfect pleats become fluid and feminine in this comfort, volume rich collection that at times brings to recollection the world’s first lady, Evita Peron.
These ladies have strong feminine attitude with a decisive personality, wear their slick hair placed in a bun under large fur brim hats and keep their lips lusciously plump.
Little jackets and deliciously pleated skirts that alternate between cashmere bands and chiffon panels celebrate the waistline while dramatic coats and luxurious fur decorates trim as Biagiotti plays with contrasts of layering. Often summer dresses and floral bursting with color are worn under trench coats for protection and oversized knit for warmth.
Prints and embroidery, detailing via the sartorial and scrumptious knitwear are all part of the look next winter, along with never ending cashmere, tricot, sparkling beading and rich tweed for coats. Biagiotti also takes the inner and turns it to outerwear as devilish lingerie sensually caresses the female silhouette, enhancing the upper torso while satin and silk dance in the breeze.
In a color palette of signature neutrals, Biagiotti brings light to winter before contrasting deeper hues of blues, pinks and purples, copper and blacks for a wardrobe of notable Laura Biagiotti style along with a contemporary and modern breath of fresh air for a new luxury with a ‘relaxed soul’.
