MILAN, Oct 3, 2003/ FW/ --- Spiral curly haired, red lipped, white rimmed sunglass pinup
girls disembark on the island of Capri, a setting of deep blue sea and plunging cliffs
for Laura Biagiotti’s seaside summer holiday 2004 is one of glamour and parading silhouettes.
She reworks 1950’s essentials into a chic, feminine, wearable wardrobe.
From the A-line skirt to sexy halter neck dresses, swimsuits are Marilyn sexy, pearl and
shiny, tight matchstick pants with little tailored jackets.
Waists are accentuated vai belts and female tailoring that abolished hipsters and low
crutches.
The colour spectrum is her classical white but with silver, green, yellow, pink and pastels.
Rainbow stripes both large and small, both horizontal and vertical.
Biagiotti’s knitwear is large and incorporates designs and patterns, leaving collars large,
off the shoulder and all the same never forgetting little tops for more dazzling occasions.
Floral appears as series of sequins sewn onto light slightly transparent fabrics and lemon
and grape prints remind one of the culinary flavours that only Italy knows how.
Dresses are fishtailed and free flowing while maintaining the womanly form.
As models walk in either sandals or 12cm slip on stilettos, Laura Biagiotti’s collection
is luxurious and romantic as is the ‘dolce vita’.
