DALLAS, May 6, 2007/ FW/ --- For half a century, Leonard has been known for its original cheerful prints. When Veronique Leroy took the creative helm of the brand a few years back, she started ever so slightly to rejuvenate the brand. For Fall 2007, the renewal is more apparent, and Leonard clients and fans love it!
To attract younger clientele while keeping the existing ones, Veronique Leroy mixed solids with the signature Leonard prints. Beginning with the black shift dress with a printed bib and printed flat piping on the hemline, to the inclusion of leather as trim, it was a hipper younger Leonard.
Leggings were in the signature house prints of course and usually teamed with a solid outfit, like the black empire dress with epaulet sleeves.
Outerwear was also proposed, this time in beige, a double-breasted coat with standing collar, the Leonard prints once again were just used as trims.
There were the new prints for the season, a standard fare from Leonard. What is new is that they are now quilted to become loose-fitting jackets, blousons and trench coats. Another thing new this season is a gray and black faux leopard print because upon closer inspection, the leopard spots were actually tiny flowers.
Trousers were slim and always in solid colors and always teamed with a blouse in Leonard prints. Actually, for the whole collection, the silhouettes are slim except for the outerwear that was sometimes oversized.
It’s Leonard in a new mood, thanks to Veronique Leroy!
