PARIS, Oct 11, 2002/ FW/ --- What a difference a week makes.
Jean-Paul Knott, whose own line fizzled last Friday, burst into a solar storm for Louis Féraud
today with a show entitled "Ibiza Chic", his debut collection for Féraud.
The young Belgian who previously worked with Yves Saint Laurent and consulted at Krizia,
was at his best with this stellar collection.
To a soundtrack of crashing breakers, the models surfed down the runway in a wave of beautiful
creations that looked as if they had been blown by the Mediterranean breeze and bleached by
the Spanish sun.
White crepe blouses billowed, and a sea scallop, pleated chiffon dress was painted with
intricate coral designs.
One suit in faded turquoise was embellished with innovative fringe, while luscious silk
dresses were wrapped with sleek bows.
The colors ranged from faintest blue, peach, pink to silver, dove gray and copper.
And throughout the collection, the sea and the sun were never far away.
One almost got the feeling of salt air, and the soft sand of a sun-drenched beach.
Even the model's hair looked wind blown.
For evening, there were chic satin dresses trimmed in velvety mink, or even flirting with
a dash with crocodile.
In short, the collection is superb, and a real testament to the young designer's talent.
