Feraud DALLAS, Jun 5, 2007/ FW/ --- Signing his third collection for Feraud, Creative Director Jean Pierre Marty drew inspiration from the femme fatales of the silver screen and transformed them into sophisticated urban dwellers who is not afraid to be noticed and seen.

Inspired by the films Jules et Jim (1962), Um Homme et Une Femme (1966) and Moulin Rouge (1940), Marty pulled classic elements giving the collection a nostalgic feel, then reworked the silhouettes to accommodate today’s hectic lifestyle.

Designed for the international woman who jets around the world both for pleasure and for business, the collection presents mannish clothing and classically feminine silhouettes in the most sensual fabrics for the alluring yet mysterious urban woman.

For Marty, the Feraud woman should be at home both in the city and in the country, be it Manhattan and the Hamptons, London and the English countryside, Paris and the Loire Valley.

Proposing trench coats with wide lapels and pleated skirts for the city and tunic coats with big buttons for the country, Marty made sure that the ladies will be warm wherever they maybe.

Shift and suit dresses are meant for the days spent in the metropolitan areas, while sweater dresses matched with thick leggings are best for tromping the countryside in knee-high boots.

Trousers are slim, but do not constrict movements, while jackets are brief and sometimes trimmed with fur; the whole ensemble fall into the category of ‘be anywhere you want to be.’

Still, it was in the eveningwear that Marty showed his mettle. Bare-shouldered cocktail dresses cinched at the wais with a wide belt, and then sheered for volume while the hemline is rolled giving it a doll like quality.

A ballerina cocktail dress sprinkled with silver stardust is a debutante’s dream while the empire waist gowns in accordion pleats is red carpet material.
