MILAN, Feb 24, 2005/ FW/ --- The strong yet graceful woman who faces life front on is full of insecurities and far from being perfect, yet it is exactly this that makes her fascinating and unique.
Mariella Burani’s trademark gypsy looks take on a new chic for autumn winter 2005/06. She is an assortment of ‘all women’ in a collection that is inspired by daily beauty. Ladies from the city to countryside, who drink coffee in the piazza and those who work the land, are all dressing to say who they are.
Elegance is functional. From long twirling cheeky petticoats that peep from under skirts to the neat blouses and monotone little dresses, Burani searches for age-old traditions and universal values.
In a wave of passionate energy, frills and ruffles dance over decorated stockings while pleats and lace trace a fluid silhouette.
Luxurious furs and fabrics are part of the Burani transformation, like a caterpillar turned to butterfly, volume is freedom and beauty is a tailored jacket that sparkles under the light and clings to the body accentuating the female form.
Warm and protective, seductive and provocative, the tango continues. Patterns are multiple, from postcards of Venice to fast red cars and never dating floral.
Floating layers are essential for harsh weather and sought after warmth. In a wardrobe of vibrant colors, difference is celebrated and fluidity the key.
