MILAN Sep 29, 2004/ FW/ – Passion drenched in dreams and the lack of dčjŕ vu, touches of heartbreak and seasonal temptation for women to dress as they please. Mariella Burani illuminated Milan’s catwalks today with the presentation of her spring summer 2005 collection.
Seagulls soar above and Burani’s gypsy spirit is alive and well as she focuses on shunning
extreme elitism.
However in an ironic subtle twist, elite she is, presenting original clothing for original women, after all isn’t diversity one of the spices of life?
Spring and summer concentrate on color and pattern with black staples made flashy by rainbows of floral, bold polka dots and tangy bites of green and orange.
Delicious tango nights hint at intriguing underbelly infatuation and abundant romanticism as feeling are transformed into long crushed skirts that dance in the cool spring breeze, tulle underskirts, embroided tops and corsetry delicacies.
Sensual dancers move along centre stage celebrating touch as plush fabrics hug slim silhouettes and suggest hippy chic freedom, Chanel inspired tailored jackets or 1980’s material girl reminiscing with foot less leggings ad fishnets under tops and knee length skirts.
Eclectic and unconventional, enjoyable and at times courageous, but always distinctly Burani. This is a collection not for the tame hearted, but warm spirited, urban loving and decisive female…fatale or otherwise.
