DALLAS, Nov 21, 2004/ FW/ --- Few designers can make fashionistas smile the way Consuelo Castiglioni, the designer for Marni does. It’s probably because with Castiglioni, the optimistic attitude is not pretense but real, and truly comes from within her.

Like last September in Milan, Castiglioni sent a vibrant collection that was full of color and joy, the sweetness in it was not sugary, rather like nectar that can make the birds and the bees sing and hum.

From solids, prints and checks, Castiglioni’s take on Spring 2005 can be compared to the delight of Demeter when Persephone comes back from Hades. The solids were green and pink, the colors of the trees and the flowers; the prints were beautiful stylized roses; while the checks were inspired by the earth and seas.

And like the loving and caring Persephone, the models brought flowers and fruits either as brooches, part of a necklace or an embellishment to their hats. Sometimes they appeared on the clutches and bags.

No matter how you put it together, they all look great together! Such is the magic of Marni. Under the masterful tailoring and styling of Consuelo Castiglioni, it is just pure enchantment.
