MILAN, Sep 27, 2005/ FW/ – Few names for a 9:00 AM show, and off the official calendar at that, are able to boast a front row of excellence. Hence with every important editor this side of anywhere present, Marni is one of them.
The Marni lady is feminine and determined. She walks the city in little jackets with drop shoulders and capelet like back volume, an accentuated waist and romantic nonchalance.
Exquisite prints from stripes to bold tropical colours give light to the spring summer wardrobe filled with loose summer dresses, collarless trenches that when belted fall like tulips and crocheted hats for protection.
Belts are fundamental, either incorporated into the outfit itself or as added functional detail at the waist or under the breast allowing the clothes themselves to breathe life and flare as she walks.
Schoolyard sweaters are light and easy to mix as one pleases over the seemingly effortless simple cuts that work perfectly without complication and excess.
If the day is reserved for skirts that fall just above the knee with boxy heeled shoes then evenings are aloof with shin length dresses that need no accessorizing due to the front filled detail of geometric design as if a necklace already in place.
A good-looking collection filled with charm and unwavering grace that even if at times is something of a recollection of another well known Milanese label, Marni’s wardrobe is filled with must have pieces for essential style well being.
