Marni Menswear Fall 2007: How Cool Is That?
Milan Menswear Show Fall 2007

Marni MILAN, Jan 20, 2007/ FW/ --- It’s the accidental schoolboy with his tricorn hat, slim fitting trousers and screen-printed tees, a look that will fit nicely in any prep school and actually college campuses around the globe.

Windbreakers with hoods, cardigans with shawl necklines, trench coats with hidden plackets and anoraks made of micro-fiber, the silhouette is modern and contemporary, even minimalistic at times.

Yet, Marni’s signature charm is there with the graphical prints that at times turn whimsical. Rounded shoulders on slim fitting suits that usually came one-button or two; ties are thin, i.e., if the boys decide to wear them at all. Mostly, they are wearing sweaters or turtlenecks.

It’s really hard to decide what was Consuelo Castiglioni’s inspiration. The tricorn hat seemed to suggest the Alps, but then she erased geographical boundaries with the rest of the pieces.

Perhaps, Marni has truly turned global. After all, in her new website, people all over the world has now access to her creative creations.
