Neil Barrett MILAN, Jan 17, 2007/ FW/ --- In a black & white collection seemingly inspired by ‘Clockwork Orange,’ Neil Barrett mixed futurism and classic styling that is so artistically endearing and mouthwatering that the only drawback to this collection is that we have to wait for six months before it actually reaches the stores.

With the bowler hat as the main accessory, the reference to the 1971 film by Stanley Kubrick was made right in the first exit with the model wearing slim fitting trousers, white shirt and a leather coat lined with shearling then finished off with a mid calf laced up boots.

What followed was a multiple variation of the look but proposed in different looks such as the more formal gray trousers paired with a white shirt embellished with tiny embroidery worn under a black outer coat. Then, there is the rock-star inspired sleeveless 6-button coat with wide lapel paired with slim fitting black trousers, long sleeved white shirt folded at the elbow to reveal a striped arm warmers.

Still, it’s the details that take your breath away. Zippers on the trouser legs strategically placed so that they will be artistic but not constrict movement. It was shown both on the more formal pairs of pants to the more casual denim.

Knitted and crocheted sweaters, down-filled quilted vest and shearling coats round up the cold weather ensembles.
