DALLAS, Mar 17, 2004/ FW/ --- Jennifer Nicholson is no stranger to Hollywood. After all, that’s where she grew up. So, it’s not surprising that for Fall 2004, she turned towards her hometown for inspiration, coming up with fun, sexy and glamorous looks that are totally Hollywood.
First, she tackled the day dresses, the ones you wear shopping at Rodeo Drive or just having lunch at the Ivy.
The empire waist trimmed with tiny gold buttons dress, complete with paisley tights and gold short-cropped boots and the orange deep V-neck blouse paired with print skirt in ruffled hem are what the beautiful peacocks of tinseltown on mild fall day in the west coast.
Then there is the low rise horizontal stripe sheered skirt with the chiffon short-cropped sleeveless top trimmed with fur --- what else can you say… it’s Hollywood, or if not, it’s Beverly Hills.
The designer did not even forget the fur coats, like the blue fox fur trench with wide lapel, and cinched at the waist. The color might be a little bit hard to match with anything in your wardrobe, but the glitterati do not worry about such little things. After all, they seldom repeat wearing anything.
It’s an eclectic collection of Hollywood glamour, from the sexy vamp to the innocent ingénue. There’s red carpet dressing for the premiere nights like the purple and green ensemble that Carmen Kass wore.
There are also the more conservative look for those charitable events, where a celebrity’s presence help open the purse strings of the rich. The demure tiny ruffled fuchsia dress will be perfect for the young starlet, not too sexy but definitely a head turner.
There is a 1940s, even 1950s feel in the collection. That’s to be expected though because the Hollywood screen goddesses that we still worship up to today are from that era.
Jennifer Nicholson knows her town very well. And it shows in this glamorous Fall 2004 collection.
