Menichetti: Green Simplistics

MILAN, Jan 26, 2005/ FW/ --- Menichetti is all about a youthful young man.

Gaining inspiration from the large skate board culture and youths of Italy, Menichitti showed baggy and more relaxed trousers with details such as visible inside seams. For a more relaxed look he teamed elegant tailored blazers with snow white turtle necks and relax fit trousers.

The pin stripe suit has a reformed look. The fusion of stripes was seen by mixing pin-stripe trousers with a larger stripe tailored suit coat. All in navy blue the look was noticeable, yet refined for the schoolboy at heart.

Many of his suit silhouettes were layered underneath with sweater vest and collared shirts.

For day wear Menichitti chose softer natural colours such as gray and green. The mixture of these two colours looked wonderful with light pinstripe trousers and green jumpers. Model, Will Chalker wore one of my favorite jumpers which was a reversible zip green cardigan with a space ship embroidered on the left side.

This cardigan will make the Menichetti man regress back to his primary school years. A light peach coloured leather coat was a much needed added splash of colour in the collection. .

A green front double pocketed velvet coat transitioned the collection to evening wear. Beautiful black silhouettes were for evening with a mixture of light gray trousers. Menichetti used simple details to distinguish his coats and tuxedos.

Velvet lapels on thick cotton trench and peacoats were signature. Black tuxedo lapels were in satin which gave depth and continuity throughout this portion of the collection. Still the trousers were relaxed for a youthful façade. Gearing towards a youthful man, one tuxedo was styled with a ruck sack.

As a model on a skate board came down the runway, Menichitti was definitely feeling his youth and pizzazz for the winter months to come.
